A Communications Manager is required to develop and deliver the communications of the Laing O'Rourke Centre. The Centre is based at the Department of Engineering's main site in Trumpington Street and the vision of the Laing O'Rourke Centre is both novel and exciting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and committed communicator. This new part-time role within the Centre requires a candidate who will bring a highly professional, innovative, engaging and creative approach to communications and have a broad and effective skills set to help the Centre in its mission to drive transformational change in construction. You will be capable of planning, preparing and delivering a communications strategy and comfortable working with a range of high-level thinkers from academia and industry to achieve strategic outcomes and reach a range of audiences. An important focus of the role is to raise and maintain the public face of the Centre within the Department, the University and industry as a world leading centre for teaching and research.
The successful candidate will be educated to first degree level or hold relevant vocational qualifications to an equivalent standard. The role requires someone with experience of marketing and communications, ideally in a construction context, as well as an excellent level of oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage and organise their workload to meet competing demands and able to work effectively with a wide range of people. The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills and experience of social media including website management.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2020 in the first instance.
